What is the fundraising for? ______________________________________ David & Karen's youngest son Harry is leaving home this year and moving to the UK to start an exciting journey to to try and become a pro soccer player. He is 15-year-old from The Gap and a passionate young soccer player. Ex Gap High School student, Ex Gap / Brisbane City Football Club Player. Recently Harry has been selected after interview and trial, to join the Sunshine Coast FC Soccer Academy. He will move schools to Peregian Springs (PBC) in Jan 2025 for 2 terms with the Sunshine Coast Sports Academy, before moving to the UK with their new International Soccer Academy and start playing in the Junior Premier League - August 2025. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for Harry, who has invested time and passion into continuing to develop as a young soccer player. You will see from the proposal attached Harrys varied and passionate soccer history including representing Australia on a UK tour in 2023 and being invited to a UK Camp with West Ham International. The Sunshine Coast FC International Soccer Academy costs $45,000 (excluding flights) and so we, as a family are fundraising to support Harry make his dreams come true. The Academy is being run by Sports Director Melvyn Wilkes, Ex Pro and UEAFA / FA coach, assisted with a great line up of coaches all ex players coming to the UK with the boys. He will continue his schooling via distance learning with one tutor from PBG going with the 40 boys. Harry's focus and aspiration is to play in the UK football pyramid as a pro soccer player so this big step is indeed a REAL opportunity at starting that journey. We will be documenting his journey, travel and experiences on social media and will be proudly promoting all the sponsors.
