Wk 2 STEM Activity Tie Dye & Print

Service Description

Enjoy a CRAFTERNOON of device free creativity. We will have music and lots of holiday fun as we enjoy three arty crafty activities. 1.00 - 1.30pm - Activity 1 - Design your pencil case with markers and fabric crayons 1.30 - 2.30pm - Activity 2 - Print your stencil on your canvas pencil case 2.30 - 3.00pm - Afternoon Tea break - Bring your own afternoon tea and a drink to enjoy in the art garden. 3.00 - 4.00pm - Activity 3 - Tie Dye your T Shirt *Pencil Case is supplied but YOU NEED TO SUPPLY your own light colour T Shirt Sometimes when we do Tie dye we don't get great results and its all washed out - WHY?? 1) Make sure the fabric you are dying is made of natural materials: Cotton, hemp, rayon, silk, jute. If your fabric is made up of synthetic materials, it will resist the dye. Polyester, Polyester blend, lycra, microfiber, nylon won't work. The fabric won't absorb the dye as well and much of the dye will wash out during the wash cycle. 2) For best results PRE WASH the clothing before class. If the fabric was not prewashed before tie dyeing, any sizing left in the fibers can also affect how the dye absorbs. 3) The tighter you tie those elastic bands the better 4) TIME - Leave it tied up and leave it alone. Let the fabric sit for 2-24 hours. The longer you can let the fabric sit, the easier it will be to wash out loose dye from the fabric. Please wear old clothes and a sprinkle of holiday cheer!

Cancellation Policy

Missed Classes - If you are sick or absent you are welcome to join another U Create class within the same term to make up the missed class. 1 x make up class is offered per term for absence due to personal holidays Cancellation - Full refund will be given pro rata with 7 days notice 7 - 3 days - A Full credit will be issued with 12 months date of usage 2 days and less - NO REFUND OR credit but you may swap your place with a friend In the event of class cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, safety lockdowns, school procedures, sickness of staff etc a CREDIT will be offered against your account or a FULL refund applied.
