We’re an independent art educator and creative studio — which means we’re not tangled up in form-filling, box-ticking, red tape, policy, or endless bureaucracy.
Nope. Not us.

This week in our “Wild Planet” adventure, we plunged deep into the Midnight Zone — the darkest, eeriest part of our incredible oceans.

The students practiced shading, blending, and explored how different pencil grades bring depth and drama to a drawing. Their subject? A super cool… and just a little bit scary… angler fish!

We finished with rich, inky washes to capture that mysterious deep-sea glow, and the results were absolutely brilliant.

With Brisbane temps hitting 37–39°C last week, it was definitely time for a wardrobe upgrade! Out with the hot, sticky polyester and in with our new cool, breathable cotton tees 😎

A couple of hours on ChatGPT (yep, I designed them myself!) and a quick order on VistaPrint later — here they are!

These are Version 1 of the official U Create Studio shirts — keeping us comfy while we create. Next year, I’ll be inviting one of our talented students to design Version 2!

The kids absolutely loved this project — experimenting with pastels, texters, crayons, and coloured pencils to explore mark-making, tone, and shading.
The results were nothing short of amazing — bursting with colour, creativity, and imagination! 💥

Just love this incredible piece by Jeremy from our Drawing Club! 🎨
Over the past few weeks, he’s poured his imagination into creating an authentic Dungeons & Dragons gameplay map for his school’s lunchtime D&D club — and wow, what a result!

Jeremy sketched the design, aged it beautifully with tea stains 🍵, singed the edges for that epic ancient-map feel 🔥, and finished it with bamboo parchment, ribbon, and a faux wax seal. Total creative mastery! 👏
